Gentlemen Prefer Blondes . . .

Pink and Blonde is not just for Barbie!

  1. Even today, the blonde-brunette dichotomy is reinforced in the media. These images of the blonde & brunette duo are ever present in the popular show, "Gossip Girl". There are a pair of best friends, one blonde and one brunette, who are "It" girls of New York. They parallel these two characters rather starkly, as the blonde character, Serena, acts out the stereotype that "blondes have more fun", whilst the brunette character is uptight and career driven and focused. These two characters are much like the duos above, with the blonde and brunette as best friends, beautiful and powerful in their ability to work together and manipulate others with their beauty.

The following link is for a "Gossip Girl" photoshoot mainly focusing on the pair, Serena and Blair. You will notice that in the photoshoot, there is a contrast between the two with their hair as well as their clothes.
